Once you're ready, go to the field customization menu and select the Customize field type option. Then choose Link to another record, and select the table you'd like to link records from. In our case, we want to pick the Albums table. Once you've selected the Albums table, click the Save button.

Once your linked record field has been created, you can create links using the linked record picker. To bring up the linked record picker while in a grid view, click the + button inside a cell. To bring up the linked record picker while in an expanded record, click the + Link to a record from table button.

A record is the base equivalent of a row in a spreadsheet. Each record is basically an item in a list. For example, in a table of books, each record is a different book. Unlike a spreadsheet, a record in a mobile Airtable base appears as a tappable card.

Through Airtable Sync, you can automatically sync views (and the records within them) from one base to another. To learn more about using Sync click here. While we do not support linking to individual records across bases at this time, a common workaround is to simply put all related tables into the same base.

A record is simply a set of data stored in a table, for example, a customer record.Since a new row creates a new entry in the table/spreadsheet, it is called a record. The same is true in a database: records are stored in rows that make up the table. The fields in the database are the columns.
