Append Required Field Resolution For Free

Go to cog item -> Issues -> Resolution and choose the default value. I only want to change the Resolution default on one screen, not on all screens that use the Resolution field. If I change it under Issues > Resolution, it will change the default on all my screens that use this field.

Resolution is one of the default fields in Jira and is always a required field and has the value Unresolved until you set it to something else.

Modify the Project so that it uses the new workflow. Using a Bulk Operation to edit those issues using the 'Fix Resolution' transition. This will set the field to the selected resolution. Change the project back to the original workflow.

Statuses represent the position of an issue in its workflow. A status can be mapped to one workflow step. Resolutions are the ways in which an issue can be closed. Read more about the default statuses, resolutions and priorities that come with your Jira products.

To make a field mandatory when used through Jira's user interface, click the Required link associated with that field. The text Required appears next to the field's name. Hidden fields cannot be set as required. To make a field optional, click the Optional link associated with that field.

Edit workflow of concerned project and issue types.click on transition and then validator.select the permission validator and select the permission from drop down list.set the permission for the same with current assignee and reporter(manager) then only assignee and reporter(manager) can execute the transition.
