You can change this setting so that cells display as many decimal places as you type in them, or so that all cells display the same number of decimal places. Select the cells or table you want to format. In the Format sidebar, click the Cell tab. Click the Data Format pop-up menu, then choose Currency.

Examples:500 or 500,00 or 500.00 = five hundred dollars and no cents.500,15 or 500.15 = five hundred dollars and fifteen cents.500,150 or 500.150 or 500,150.00 or 500.150,00 = five hundred thousand, one hundred fifty dollars and no cents.
