Adjust Header Paper For Free

Go to Home > Line and Paragraph Spacing. Select Line Spacing Options, and then choose the options you want under Spacing. To change the spacing before or after the selected paragraphs, select the arrow next to Before or After and enter the amount of space that you want. Select Set as Default.

You can also adjust the size of the Header section by changing the top margin. Click the Page Layout tab at the top of the window, then click the small Page Setup button at the bottom-right corner of the Page Setup section of the ribbon. Click inside the Top field in the Margins section and enter a lower number.

Edit your existing headers and footersDouble-click the header or footer you want to edit, or select Header or Footer, and then select Edit Header or Edit Footer.Add or change text for the header or footer or do any of the following:When you're done, select Close Header and Footer or press Esc.

Change the header and footer marginClick VIEW > Ruler. Double-click the header or footer area. Press CTRL+A. On the ruler, drag the right indent marker.

Right-click the Heading Style and then select the Modify option. At the bottom of the Modify Style dialog there will be a button that says Modify, click this button. Select the Paragraph option. Within the Paragraph dialog change the option for Spacing, After to be a lower number.

Make sure you don't have extra space in the header. Double-click on the header and hit the down arrow. If there are extra lines in the header, below the page number, delete them.

Click the Page Layout tab at the top of the window, then click the small Page Setup button at the bottom-right corner of the Page Setup section of the ribbon. Click inside the Top field in the Margins section and enter a lower number. You can then click the OK button at the bottom of the window to apply your changes.
