Adjust Footer Release For Free

When you are working in the header/footer, the document body is dimmed, and when the document layer is active, the header and footer are dimmed. This is meant to be a visual cue to the user.

1 Answer. To go back to the normal editing mode you need to click the Header & Footer Tools tab and then click the the Close Header and Footer button.

On the Insert tab select Footer > Edit Footer. Look towards the bottom of the document, which will show the Position of the footer. You can change the height by reducing the value in the Footer from Bottom section. You can also accomplish this (if your Ruler is visible) by dragging the footer section down.

To allow this, you must disable the feature that repeats footers across sections.Double-click a footer that follows a section break.
