Adapt Watermark Resolution For Free

Go to the Design tab and, in the Page Background group, select Watermark. (Depending on the version of Word, the path may be Page Layout > Page Background > Watermark.) Select Custom Watermark. In the Printed Watermark dialog box, select Picture watermark.

All logo watermarks have to be under 1MB in size, so a 1080x1080 image size should be perfect to fit this limit.

Choose the picture you want, and select Insert.On the Design tab, select Watermark.In the Insert Watermark box, select Picture > Select Picture, and then browse to the picture you want to use.Next to Scale, make sure Auto is selected and Washout is checked, and then choose OK. .

Generally, a watermark should: Be small and monochromatic or have very little color. Large, colored watermarks, detract from the image as they can compete with the subject too much.

Adjust the washout effect of a watermarkDouble-click near the top of the page to open the header.Move the cursor over the watermark until you see the four-headed arrow, and then click the watermark to select it.Under Picture Tools, select Format.Try selecting Recolor, Brightness, or Contrast.

Click Custom Watermark > Text watermark and type what you want in the Text box. You can adjust the font, size, color, layout, and transparency.

Resizing and RepositioningSelect, hold, and drag the adjustment handles to change the size of your watermark. (The top, center handle tilts the watermark to the left and right.)To reposition your watermark, hover your cursor over the watermark until the cursor becomes two crossed arrows (see figure 12).
