Water and sewer usage shall be measured by the number of gallons of water use shown on the water meter. The charge for water and sewer usage shall be $4.90 per 1,000 gallons or part thereof. The charge for water usage only shall be $2.45 per 1,000 gallons or part thereof.

Billing is calculated on a quarterly basis. The billing quarters are January 1st - March 31st, April 1st - June 30th, July 1st - September 30th, and October 1st - December 31st.

Unless otherwise stated, the water (or water + sewage) bill falls under the utility umbrella, just like electricity or natural gas. If the lease states that the Tenant is responsible for all utilities associated with the Property, then the water bill is their responsibility.

All customers pay the same rate for water usage. Customers are billed based on a regular monthly meter reading for residential customers as well as for commercial and other public authority customers. Rates can vary based on the cost of providing service in each of the communities we serve.

The Public Community Water System Tax is levied upon the owner or operator of every public community water system in New Jersey based upon water delivered to consumers, not including water purchased for resale, on or after April 1, 1984. The tax rate is $0.01 per 1,000 gallons of water delivered to a consumer.
