NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital – based in New York City – is the nation's largest not-for-profit, non-sectarian hospital, with 2,455 beds.

New York state Family Assistance (FA) provides cash assistance to needy families that include a minor child living with a parent (including families where both parents are in the household) or a caretaker relative. FA operates under Federal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) guidelines.

NYP is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit system that includes a variety of outlying hospitals that had been affiliates of the legacy Hospitals, NewYork or Presbyterian.

For New York State residents, the Assistance Program is available to patients who meet the criteria set forth in this Policy with respect to medically necessary services.

Individuals who receive medically necessary services at the Hospital for which they are unable to pay are eligible for financial assistance if they meet the criteria as set forth in this Policy or have otherwise been approved for financial assistance by the Hospital.

If you are not eligible for any health insurance plan, cannot afford insurance coverage, or do not have money to pay for medical care, you may qualify for one of our financial assistance programs. NYC Care is available for New Yorkers who are ineligible for or can't afford health insurance.

All hospitals in New York must have financial assistance programs, with policies for determining eligibility for discounted care on file with the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH).

HOW DO I KNOW IF I QUALIFY FOR CHARITY CARE? Residents of New York State may qualify for Charity Care for medically necessary emergency services. Residents of Hospital's primary service area may qualify for Charity Care for medically necessary non- emergency services.
