As of May 6, 2022, SBA is no longer processing COVID-19 EIDL loan increase requests or requests for reconsideration of previously declined loan applications. As of May 16, 2022, the COVID-19 EIDL portal (covid19relief1.sba.gov, also known as the "RAPID portal") is closed.

National Small Business Week (NSBW) will run from Sunday, April 30 through Saturday, May 6 in 2023. The SBA will announce winners for the 2023 awards in 14 categories, including: Small Business Person of the Year Award.

SBA was created in 1953 as an independent agency of the federal government to aid, counsel, assist and protect the interests of small business concerns; preserve free competitive enterprise; and maintain and strengthen the overall economy of our nation.

On August 1, 2023, SBA implemented policies to expand access to capital for small businesses by modernizing SBA's signature 7(a) working capital* and 504 fixed asset loan programs.

The Emerging Leaders Initiative is an intensive executive-level series intended to accelerate the growth of high-potential small businesses in America's underserved cities.

SBA provides limited small business grants and grants to states and eligible community organizations to promote entrepreneurship.

Build healthy entrepreneurial ecosystems and create business friendly environments; 3. Restore small businesses and communities after disasters; and 4. Strengthen SBA's ability to serve small businesses. The SBA will achieve these goals through its core programs and services.
