Students generally don't submit their own letters of recommendation. Teachers, counselors and other recommenders usually send them in electronically via whichever application platform a student is using, such as the Common App.

Submitting Your Recommendations Submit your recommendations within MyStatus using the Document Upload System after you have submitted your admissions application. Within Document Upload you can upload recommendations on your own or you can formally request for someone to submit one on your behalf electronically.

Since they are not required documents, additional letters of recommendation do not have to be received by the application deadline. However, they should be sent as close as possible to the deadline so that they can be reviewed with your application.

When you invite your teacher, Common App will send them a link to upload their letter of recommendation into Common App. Ultimately, your counselors or teachers will submit the exactl same letter/report for every school you apply to.
