Divisible loads are multi-piece freight shipments that have been loaded in a way that increases one, or more, of the overall loaded dimensions (height, width, weight or length) beyond legally allowed thresholds.

Easy examples of divisible loads include aggregate (sand, soil, gravel, rocks), grain, household items, liquid, pallets, produce, scrap metal, etc. More difficult examples of divisible loads include items such as conveyor belts, heavy equipment with buckets and blades, wind energy equipment, etc.
