The acknowledgement will contain a unique 15-digit acknowledgement number. The applicant is requested to save and print this acknowledgement. This facility can be used by PAN applicants having a valid Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) issued to them by authorized Certifying Authority (CA) in India.

Form 49A is the application form for the allotment of Permanent Account Number for Indian residents. Any individual who is a resident of India and wishes to apply for PAN should compulsorily fill the form 49A as it is the application form.

As stated earlier, a person can apply for a PAN Card by submitting either Form 49A or 49AA. Form 49A is an application form specifically for individuals residing in India. On the other hand, Form 49AA is an application form primarily for foreign residents and non-individual entities incorporated outside India.

You can change the name on your PAN card through the following process: Visit the NSDL PAN website or the UTIITSL website. Select the 'Change/Correction in PAN card details'. Enter the 'PAN Card' number, fill in the other details, and click the 'Submit' button. Enter the required details on the form.

PAN Card Form 49AA is an application for allotment of Permanent Account Number that is governed by Rule 114 of the Income Tax Rules, 1962. It is meant for the utilization of Individuals who aren't citizens of India, entities incorporated outside India and unincorporated entities formed outside India.
