If a property in the Coming Soon Status is ready to show before the Showing Start Date, can it be changed to Active sooner? No, the Showing Start Date cannot be changed once entered.

A “coming soon” real estate listing means that the house isn't officially on the market yet. Instead, it means the house is going to be available for sale within the next 30 days. You might see “coming soon” listings on sites that allow certain agents to create this kind of listing.

Coming Soon status indicates that the broker and the seller are preparing the property for sale and for marketing as Active status.

One of the most reliable signs that a home will be going on the market is the presence of a “coming soon” listing, like those offered on Zillow.com. Current homeowners use these services to gauge buyer interest and line up potential buyers by publicizing their intention to sell.

It's wise to give the seller of a “coming soon” house two days or so to accept your offer. This gives the seller time to expose the house to the market, but she'll know she cannot string you along.

When a listing has been on the market for some time, it can often be smart to cancel the listing and submit a new listing. In most cases (see below) cancelling a listing and resubmitting it will reset the Days on Market (DOM) on the MLS and also give you a new MLS listing number.

To update the listing status, scroll down to the Status section and click on the Close Listing tab. Complete all required and relevant fields, then click the Save button at the bottom. (Note to Flex users: Active listings must go into Pending status before you change the status to Closed/Sold.)

How long does it take for agents to post information? A: It takes only a few minutes, but the agents aren't putting the information in right away. By their guidelines, real estate agents are supposed to post a listing on the multiple listing service within 48 hours after the home is for saleâmeaning a sign in the yard.

The phrase "coming soon" is often used to indicate that something is going to be available or happen in the near future, Richard Persen.

To change a Coming Soon listing to Active before the Start Showing Date, use the Start Showing (Active) status change option on the Edit Listing page. When you change the status by using this option, the listing becomes a regular Active listing.
