How many levels are there in Boy Scouts?

Scouts BSA has seven ranks: Scout, Tenderfoot, Second Class, First Class, Star, Life and Eagle.

Cub Scouting is available to youth from kindergarten through fifth grade. Scouts BSA (formerly Boy Scouts) is the flagship program of the BSA for youth ages 11 to 18; 10-year-olds can join after March 1 of their fifth grade year or if they have earned the Arrow of Light award.

Skip to: Lion Cub - Kindergarten. Bobcat. Tiger - 1st Grade. Wolf - 2nd Grade. Bear - 3rd Grade. Webelos - 4th and 5th Grade. Arrow of Light.

Scouts plan their own advancement and progress through the ranks at their own pace. With the exception of Cub Scouts, Scouts achieve new ranks by developing new skills and knowledge; having those skills and knowledge tested; going before a board or review; and then being recognized for his or her achievement.

Cub Scouts who join a pack are assigned to dens with ideally six to eight members, usually based on age: Lion Scouts (kindergarten), Tiger Scouts (first grade), Wolf Scouts (second grade), Bear Scouts (third grade), and Webelos Scouts (fourth and fifth grades).

After being awarded the Scout badge by completing the joining requirements and participating in a Scoutmaster conference, there are six ranks that are earned sequentially: Tenderfoot, Second Class, First Class, Star, Life, and Eagle.

On the advancement trail, a Cub Scout progresses towards a badge of rank based on their grade. They need not have earned the previous rank in order to earn the next. Each of the ranks in Cub Scouting has its own requirements that are age appropriate, so earning a rank below a Cub Scout's current grade is not permitted.

Its programmes now include Squirrels (aged 4–6), Beavers (aged 6–8), Cubs (aged 8–101⁄2), Scouts (aged 101⁄2–14), Explorer Scouts (aged 14–18) and adult Network members (aged 18–25).
