Dispositions (Criminal) Disposed files are available from the Superior Court Records Center. Requests for information must include name, case docket number, date of disposition and court location where case was heard, and if possible, date of birth to obtain disposition information from clerk or Records Center.

Besides looking up your court date online, a defendant may call the court clerk's office that they are scheduled to appear in and simply ask. If you have a lawyer, you may also contact them, and their office will likely know the court date.

The disposition on a criminal record is the current status or final outcome of an arrest or prosecution. Common dispositions are: Convicted: means you have plead or been found guilty by a court of law. Acquitted: means you have been found not guilty by a court of law in a criminal trial.

The judge will explore each of these points on the record by asking the defendant, repeatedly, if they understand. During the plea hearing, the judge will also give the prosecutor the opportunity to read the charges from the indictment and give a statement of the proof that they would expect to introduce at trial.

The purpose of the disposition hearing is for the court to determine an appropriate disposition or punishment for the child's actions. This can include a range of options, such as probation, placement in a juvenile detention facility, or participation in a treatment program.

A case with an "awaiting disposition" status has not concluded its journey through the justice system. When an applicant background check shows one or more charges "awaiting disposition," it means that the court is still working towards reaching an outcome with the offender.
