As opposed to this, the CCDC 9B is a certified declaration that the subcontractor must provide to be paid for either the second and subsequent requests for progress payments or the release of holdbacks.

The Canadian Construction Documents Committee (CCDC) develops, produces, and reviews standard construction contracts, forms and guides. It is a national joint committee, formed in 1974, and includes representation from across the Canadian construction industry.

You can ask an Ontario notary public, lawyer, commissioner of oaths or justice of the peace to sign a statutory declaration. Other licensed professionals, such as engineers, physicians or accountants, and Members of Parliament or police officers can also sign.

The Statutory Declaration of Progress Payment Distribution by Contractor is a sworn statement for use by the Contractor as a condition of receiving payment for either the second and subsequent applications for progress payment or the release of holdback funds.

GC 6.5. 2 has been revised in the CCDC 2 (2020) to preclude claims for extensions for delays caused by a stop work order issued by a court or public authority, UNLESS the delay results in the failure of the Contractor to obtain RFT by the date stipulated in the Contract.

CCDC documents are used in contractual arrangements across the Canadian construction industry. They provide cost savings through balanced standard contract forms, and help to ensure standardization for bidding and contracting procedures.

The two most commonly used contracts for condominium owners are the CCDC 2 (Stipulated Price Contract) and the CCDC 5B (Construction Management Contract – for Services and Construction). CCDC 2 is a contract between the owner and contractor to perform the required work for a predetermined fixed price and schedule.
