1099-G Form for State Tax Refunds, Credits or Offsets If the state issues you a refund, credit or offset of state or local income, that amount will be shown in Box 2 of your 1099-G form. The most common uses of the 1099-G is to report unemployment compensation, as well as any state or local income tax refunds you received that year. If you received a 1099-G Form this year from a government agency, you may need to report some of the information it contains on your tax return.

The IVR system is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. A copy of your Form 1099G will be mailed to you.
