The mercantile tax is a business gross receipts tax levied by Upper Merion Township upon the privilege of doing certain types of business in Upper Merion.

How much is it? The current rates for the Business Income & Receipts Tax (BIRT) are 1.415 mills ($1.415 per $1,000) on gross receipts, and 5.99% on taxable net income.

The Philadelphia Code is the compilation of all general ordinances adopted by the Philadelphia City Council. It is divided into 22 titles: Title 1: General Provisions. Title 2: City-County Consolidation.
