BUILDING PERMITS Permits are $1.00 per $1,000 construction cost with minimum of $5.00.

Please allow 7-10 working days for the permit process. Builder/contractor shall be licensed with the State of Mississippi when required by state law. (A copy of this license may be required.)

Application should be made in person in Room 425, City Hall. The permits office is open from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. All building permit applications are reviewed by a professional Plan Reviewer (a licensed engineer or architect).

A building permit is valid for six months; if any inspections are made within the initial six month period, the permit will automatically be extended for an additional six months from the date of inspection.

Sheds with less than 120 square feet do not require a building permit but still requires approval from the Zoning Administrator. The Zoning Administrator may be reached at (601) 638-6203.

A state mechanical contractor's license is required to secure a mechanical permit except a homeowner may perform a mechanical installation in a single family dwelling which he or she occupies or will occupy.
