Police records checks are a point in time search and only valid on the day they are issued, since information can change from day-to-day. The police service doesn't determine an expiry date; this is up to the agency/employer.

A Vulnerable Sector Check provides the screening of individuals who intend on working or volunteering with vulnerable people. This type of screening is required for the following types of positions, among others: Teachers. Social workers.

The major difference between a Criminal Record check and a Vulnerable Sector Screening is the information the screening will uncover. Criminal Record checks will only uncover criminal convictions, whereas a Vulnerable Sector check will uncover a wider range of information.
