Overall, many Naval ROTC scholarship applicants in high school do not realize they can move between the Navy and Marine Corps once in the Naval ROTC program.

The scholarship is extremely generous, paying full tuition at public and private schools affiliated with Navy ROTC (NROTC). Every year, over 5,000 students compete for approximately 1,200 Navy ROTC scholarships. Nearly 2,200 students compete for 400 Marine Corps Option ROTC scholarships.

The purpose of the Marine Option NROTC program is to educate and train highly qualified young men and women for careers as commissioned officers in the U.S. Marine Corps. The Marine option NROTC units are located at selected colleges and universities throughout the country.

If you receive a ROTC Scholarship offer, you'll have 30 days to accept or decline. Once you Accept the scholarship there is no Commitment to serve in the Navy until the first day of your Sophomore year of College.

Applicants must use the online application to complete and submit all the required information in order to apply for the Navy ROTC scholarship. This online application is extensive and may require several hours to complete. You are able to start the application and save your progress as you complete each section.

WHAT SAT OR ACT SCORES DO I NEED TO GET A SCHOLARSHIP? For Navy Option students, the minimum scores are (SAT) 530 Verbal and 520 Math; or (ACT) 22 English and 21 Math. For Marine Corps Option students, a minimum of 1000 composite on the SAT or 22 composite on the ACT is required.

Our scholarship students are obligated for a minimum of four years of active duty after graduation, depending on service selection. They accept the obligation at the beginning of the sophomore year. Our College Program (non-scholarship) students are obligated for three years of active duty after graduation.
