What is the Interstate Compact for Juvenile Offenders? The Interstate Compact for Juvenile (ICJ) offenders provides a legal means of transferring the supervision of youth from one state to another and returning runaways.

A person 17 years old or older is an adult under Missouri law.

Under Missouri's juvenile detention point system, it takes a score of 15 points to get locked up. Most felonies are 11 points, 12 if it's against a person. A probation violation is one point.

Once an out-of-state juvenile is found and detained, the following procedures shall apply: Runaways and accused status offenders who are a danger to themselves or others shall be detained in secure facilities until returned by the home/demanding state.

The purpose of the Interstate Compact on Juveniles is to provide for the supervision of juvenile offenders (either on probation or aftercare/parole) who reside outside of their state of adjudication or commitment.

Who is an adult under Missouri law? For purposes of the juvenile code, an adult is a person seventeen years of age or older while a child is someone under seventeen years of age.
