CT Veterans Wartime Service Medal Any Connecticut Veteran, living or deceased, with qualifying wartime military service is eligible to receive the Connecticut Veterans Wartime Service Medal; a small "thank you" from a grateful state.

A person who is active duty is in the military full time. They work for the military full time, may live on a military base, and can be deployed at any time. Persons in the Reserve or National Guard are not full-time active duty military personnel, although they can be deployed at any time should the need arise.

Veterans, who have ninety (90) days of wartime service, including Merchant Marines, who served during WWII, are eligible for a $1,500 exemption for property tax purposes (e.g., real property or automobiles). You have the option to choose to apply this exemption to your real estate or automobile tax.
