The main difference between the Row and LazyRow functions is that the LazyRow creates a horizontally scrollable list of content. The LazyRow and LazyColumn allow us to use the following functions to add content to it: item adds an item. items adds multiple items.

LazyRow is used to display a horizontally scrolling list. It only renders the currently visible items on the screen. As a result, it is memory efficient. Let's play with the lazy row in the Android Studio.

LazyColumn is also a Composable function that arranges its children in a vertical sequence. However, it works differently than Column – it is “lazy”. It means that LazyColumn only renders the items currently visible on the screen, making it much more efficient when dealing with large lists.

It is similar to RecyclerView in Android. You can use LazyColumn when you need to display a large number of items or a list of unknown length efficiently. LazyColumn works by only composing and laying out the visible items on the screen, and recycling them as they scroll off.

Use Column to place items vertically on the screen. Similarly, use Row to place items horizontally on the screen. Both Column and Row support configuring the alignment of the elements they contain. Use Box to put elements on top of another.

LazyColumn produces a vertically scrolling list, and LazyRow produces a horizontally scrolling list. The Lazy components are different to most layouts in Compose. Instead of accepting a @Composable content block parameter, allowing apps to directly emit composables, the Lazy components provide a LazyListScope.() block.

As the name suggests, the difference between LazyColumn and LazyRow is the orientation in which they lay out their items and scroll. LazyColumn produces a vertically scrolling list, and LazyRow produces a horizontally scrolling list.
