Nebraska Contractors

What Nebraska requires of contractors is relatively little, compared to other states. There is no required exam, but you are required to register with Nebraska's Department of Labor (DOL) via their website, providing specific business and identity information.

A certified contractor passed the state licensing examination. Certified contractors can work anywhere within the state in which they are licensed. A registered contractor is registered by a local county or municipality and receives a certificate of competency from the Electrical Contractors' Licensing Board.

Virginia Class A Contractor License: Requires Minimum Net Worth of $45,000. Qualified Individual needs at least 5 years experience. Maximum Project Size is unlimited. Maximum Annual Revenue is unlimited.

Create a business entity. Decide which license you need (A,B, or C as listed previously). Take a mandatory 8-Hour pre-license course (required for all license types) Pass the required exams. Complete your application and submit to the Board with the appropriate fee.

A Class C Contractor is any contractor that has single contracts from $1,000 or more but less than $10,000 or contracts totaling less than $150,000 over a one-year period. Virginia does not require Continuing Education for the Class C Contractor classification.

The Virginia Board for Contractors requires that either the DE or a member of Responsible Management complete an eight-hour pre-license education course for contractors. The DE may complete the course for a Class A or B license, while Class C requires a member of Responsible Management.
