Lifetime LicensesLifetime hunting licenses include basic hunting, big game hunting, primitive firearms, bow hunting, state waterfowl license, turkey license and WMA hunting permit. Lifetime licenses are available from the Baton Rouge office only. Allow three weeks processing time.

People hunting on private land must hunt as they do on state property, and must honor any wishes of the landowner. Hunting in Louisiana is regulated by the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF), and all hunters must have a valid license.

A legal antlered deer has at least one visible antler of hardened, bony material broken through the skin. AREAS 4 & 10 EXCEPTIONS: Season limit is three deer for these two areas, and a hunter's season take can either be two antlered deer and one antlerless deer, or two antlerless deer and one antlered deer.

Harvest of Nutria a. Participants must possess a valid trapping license and a nutria control program registration number.Only nutria harvested during the open trapping season, from coastal Louisiana and taken from property permitted can be included in this program.

Residents and nonresident hunters age 16 or older must have a Basic Hunting License to hunt, take, possess or transport any wild birds or quadrupeds (for which hunting is permitted and seasons are opened).

The Louisiana Sportsman's Paradise License includes Basic and Saltwater fishing licenses; Basic, Big Game, Bow, and Primitive Firearm hunting licenses; Louisiana Duck and Turkey stamps, the WMA Hunting Permit; and all recreational gear licenses except for recreational trawls longer than 16 feet.

Hunters purchasing licenses online at la-web.s3licensing.com will be able to print an E-License using a personal printer for immediate use, email or save the licenses purchased to an electronic device which is kept in possession while hunting. Deer tags will need to be printed and in possession while hunting deer.

Feral Hog Control If you hold a valid Louisiana Basic Hunting License, you may take feral hogs (where legal) year-round during legal daylight shooting hours. See current regulations for more information, including taking feral hogs on wildlife management areas and other public lands.
