Unlock Comment Lease For Free

A lease creates and manages a lock on a blob for write and delete operations. The lock duration can be 15 to 60 seconds, or can be infinite.

A blob name must be at least one character long and cannot be more than 1,024 characters long, for blobs in Azure Storage. The Azure Storage emulator supports blob names up to 256 characters long. For more information, see Use the Azure storage emulator for development and testing. Blob names are case-sensitive.

The lease is granted for the duration specified when the lease is acquired. This duration can be between 15 and 60 seconds, or an infinite duration. When a client acquires a lease, a lease ID is returned.

Any authorized request can break the lease; the request is not required to specify a matching lease ID. When a lease is broken, the lease break period is allowed to elapse, during which time no lease operation except break and release can be performed on the container or blob.

When you lease a blob, you acquire an exclusive lock on that blob. As long as the blob is leased, no one other than lease holder can modify or delete the blob. You can either acquire a temporary lease , duration of which could be anywhere between 15 to 60 seconds or an infinite lease .

At the highest level, Azure Files offers two performance tiers: standard and premium. Standard file shares are hosted on a storage system backed by hard disk drives (HDD), while premium file shares are backed by solid-state drives (SSD) for better performance.

When a lease is broken, the lease break period is allowed to elapse, during which time no lease operation except break and release can be performed on the container or blob.
