Trace Footnote Notification For Free

Using the Notes drop-down list at the top of the Footnotes pane, choose Footnote Continuation Notice. The current notice appears in the window. (Note that the notice might be originally blank, so you might not see anything in the window.) Change the notice as desired.

In a footnote referencing system, you indicate a reference by: Putting a small number above the line of type directly following the source material. This number is called a note identifier. It sits slightly above the line of text.

Remove a footnote Another way you can do this is to right-click the footnote at the bottom of the page, select Go to Footnote and then delete the number there.

Searching for Footnote and Endnote Marks Press Ctrl+F to display the Find tab of the Find and Replace dialog box. (See Figure 1.) In the Find What box, enter the text for which you want to search. To search for a footnote mark, enter ^f. ... Set other searching parameters, as desired. Click on Find Next.

Click the Review tab on the Ribbon. Click the down arrow on Track Changes > Track Changes to turn it on or off. Track Changes: On or Track Changes: Off will display on the status bar (bottom bar in the document.) If this is not showing, right-click the status bar, and check Track Changes.

Click anywhere inside any footnote in the document. Press Ctrl+A to select all footnotes, but only footnotes (Figure B). Press F9 to update any fields in all the selected footnotes and click Yes to see the updated fields, as shown in Figure C.
