(1) The FPDS requires that each reporting agency assign a unique identifier for every contract, purchase order, BOA, Basic Agreement, and BPA reported to FPDS. Such identifiers shall comply with the contract numbering guidelines established by the Joint Financial Management Improvement Project.

The government user is able to access, maintain, track, and report contract awards in FPDS. The privileges assigned to a government user by their System Administrator will determine what features that user can access in FPDS.

FPDS, also known as FPDS NG, or the Federal Procurement Data System, is the central real-time database for government contracting transactions. The system is meant to ensure trust and transparency in federal spending.

Contract action report (CAR) means contract action data required to be entered into the Federal Procurement Data System (FPDS). Definitive contract means any contract that must be reported to FPDS other than an indefinite delivery vehicle.

Agencies are instructed to use the Contractor Performance Assessment Reporting System (CPARS) to create and measure the quality and timely reporting of performance information.

Contract reports are designed to give you insight into your company's purchasing against contracts. The Contract Reports folder is located in the Prepackaged Reports folder. The reports in the Contract Reports folder are available in the following solutions: SAP Ariba Procurement solutions.

What's reported to FPDS? Contracts whose estimated value is $10,000 or more. Every modification to that contract, regardless of dollar value must be reported to FPDS.
