It takes approximately two weeks to process a transcript and up to five business days to process a paper letter of recommendation from the time we receive it. Electronic letters of recommendation are usually available as soon as we receive them.

Candidates must have official transcripts sent to LSAC for any additional academic work completed, including degrees obtained, to update the file. If your CAS Report has already been sent to requesting law schools, an updated report will be transmitted, provided their terms are still active.

Faxing and Third-Party Mailings For security reasons, the IRS does not fax most transcripts. The IRS also does not mail transcripts to third parties when Forms 4506-T or 4506-T-EZ are submitted.

Updating Your Transcript Information For corrected, updated, or final transcripts, please have the issuing institution mail your official transcripts/academic records directly to LSAC in a sealed school envelope with a stamp or seal across the sealed flap of the envelope.

Official transcripts are issued in portrait format and contain the seal of the university and the signature of the University Registrar. Unofficial transcripts are available to current students via self-service from the Student Information System.

Official transcript should be submitted by your counselor. If the counselor submits online, the transcript should be attached to your school forms. Otherwise, transcripts should be sent directly to the schools to which you are applying. Please contact each admissions office for the exact address or procedure.

Both types of documents contain identical academic information. Our transcript key will be the final page in the Electronic Transcript we send rather than appearing on the back of each sheet of a paper transcript.
