An Oregon Status Quo Order; Request for Hearing is a court order that is issued when a dispute arises between two parties involving a child custody or visitation issue. This order is meant to protect the safety and welfare of the child and keep the current living situation in place until a hearing can be held. The order will specify what type of contact, if any, can occur between the parties and any other restrictions that are necessary to maintain the current status quo. There are two types of Oregon Status Quo Orders; Request for Hearing: Temporary Order and Final Order. A Temporary Oregon Status Quo Order; Request for Hearing is issued when a hearing is scheduled to take place within 14 days of filing, while a Final Oregon Status Quo Order; Request for Hearing is issued when a hearing is scheduled to take place after 14 days.
