The current wastewater charge is $8.54 per 1,000 gallons. In 2021, a median residential customer will be billed $86.46 every other month to collect, transport and treat about 8,000 gallons of wastewater.

There are two opportunities to appeal appraised value at the county level. The first opportunity is in early spring when Notices of Appraised Value are mailed to property owners. The second time to appeal is by Payment Under Protest in late spring or fall.

The property owner must obtain and complete an appeals form from the county clerk's office in the county where the property is located. The appeals form requires the property owner to provide general information about the property under appeal. It also requires confirmation that a conference has been held with the PVA.

You must file an Assessment Appeal Application, form BOE-305-AH, obtained from the clerk of the board of the county where your property is located. Some counties have this form available on the website of either the clerk of the board or the county assessor, or both.

You can appeal your notice by contacting the county appraiser within 30 days from the date notice was mailed. Once you start this appeal, be sure to pursue it to your satisfaction. If you abandon or drop your appeal, you cannot appeal later for the same property and tax year.
