A Connecticut worker is paid 75% of worker's after tax average weekly wage. Weekly payments are calculated as 20% of the State Average Weekly Wage not to exceed 75% of their average wage. The minimum is $228.20 and the maximum is $1,141 or 100% of State Average Weekly Wage.

Permanent disability payments are set by law and are calculated according to three factors: your disability rating, your wages at the time of injury, and your date of injury.

The State of Connecticut Workers' Compensation Program requires that an employee report a work-related injury or illness to his/her employer immediately. For injuries prohibiting the employee from immediately notifying his/her supervisor, the supervisor, on behalf of the injured employee, can directly report the claim.

Your degree of disability is determined by a doctor using his or her medical judgment, your physical exam and diagnostic tests (MRIs, CT Scans, X-Rays, etc.). Sometimes the doctor will reflect your disability level as a percentage such as 25%, 33%, 50%, etc.

Permanent partial disability (PPD) is a term used by workers' compensation for those who have recovered from their injury but are left with some level of impairment that is not expected to improve significantly.
