U.S. Legal Forms and Thomson Gale to Supply Legal Forms to Libraries Nationwide

JACKSON, MS - State-specific legal forms will soon be available at public libraries across the country as a result of a joint venture announced today by U.S. Legal Forms, Inc. and Thomson Gale. The venture will allow Thomson Gale to license, market and distribute the U.S. Legal Forms subscription product line to academic, public and school libraries in the United States.

This marks the first time that U.S. Legal Forms, the nation's leading publisher of state-specific legal forms on the Internet, and Thomson Gale, a world leader in information solutions for libraries, have joined forces to serve an emerging need. The plan stemmed from both companies' recognition that there is a growing demand from the general public for legal forms in their daily lives.

"Public libraries have been interested in meeting their patrons' needs for legal form access for some time," said U.S. Legal Forms CEO Frank D. Edens. "This joint venture with Thomson Gale puts our form subscription service in the hands of an experienced staff who know the library market. The benefits of the venture for both companies are evident; and the benefits for libraries and the form-using public will be equally extensive."

The forms will be distributed under the name Thomson Gale Legal Forms. Thomson Gale Legal Forms, powered by the U.S. Legal Forms electronic database, will make available for library patrons legal forms of all types. Forms are customized to comply with the laws of each state. The number of forms available in each library will vary depending on the location, but will typically include from 1,000 to 3,000 specific documents.

Legal forms will be available in select libraries by fall 2005.
