What is an Attachment? Legal Document Attachment

An 'Attachment' is any additional document connected or (attached) to a primary document, usually a primary agreement. The Attachment enumerates additional points of agreement useful to set out separate from the main agreement either because the additional points are generated at a later date or they are subject to frequent modification. Attachments often cover more unusual or uncommon aspects of agreements not addressed in the standard form of agreement. Attachments are commonly used to deal with peripheral but important issues in real estate contracts, leases, and business transactions.
